Dreamweaver, I beleive Ronda was BORN the year you graduated! About the Friendship quilts. Back in the ....50s if anyone wanted a friendship quilt, they just asked anyone if they wanted to contribute. It was not mandatory, if you didn't want to, you didn't. Of course, there have been many that were organized as a going away present, like when the boys went off to war or something. And there were many that were surprises and some not. Strictly personal preference. I have one that my friends surprised me with for my birthday in l996, when my dh was suffering from.........well we won't go into that. but anyway it is very pretty. nuf of that......
