I run PHP as a CGI binary in a virtual hosting environment. Apache and a modified SuExec are used to allow PHP to run as the uid/gid of the virtual hosting user. Also the changes to Suexec means PHP will work without the #!/ path at the top of _script_s. PHP seems to look for its php.ini in the directory the _script_ is running from first, and then tries /usr/local/lib should it not found it. At it stands a user can upload their own php.ini file, and use that for _script_s running from their directory. I wish to prevent that, so PHP will always use the file at /usr/local/lib/php.ini, I tried compiling using following, together and separately.
