Hello, I have some questions on HTML form that I hope someone can help me on. I understand in a HTML form we can either choose to use a CGI program to process the form or we can post it to a person's email address. Which is the recommended way? How do professional websites handle forms? If the form's information is posted to an email account, I receive in my email account an attachment file POSTDATA.ATT and its content is just a query string. Am I right to say that if I need to decrypt this file, I need to write a small program that sit in my client station? Or is there a more elegant way of doing it? My meaning of decrypt here is to display the content of the POSTDATA.ATT file in a formatted version for a user to read. If I use a backend program such as a CGI program to do the processing, are there tasks this backend program can do and cannot do? Can it format the query string into a text file before sending it to the email account? Can it also allow users at the browser end to attach image or document file as well? Thank you, Keng Boon
